Flashback: Dick Durbin has been Caught Lying Before, Several Times!
Following the Senator Dick Durbin’s accusation that Trump referred to a few nations as “shithole” countries, the social media has been filled with posts criticizing the President for his poor choice of words.
However, now, newest information on the issue leads us to question whether Trump really made that comment at all. And since he denied the accusations it’s only a matter of his word against Senator Durbin’s.
As it turns out Durbin is not exactly the most reliable source considering that he has been called out for lying several times in the past.
Senator David Perdue confirmed these speculations when he said that his fellow Senator is lying and it is not his first time.
According to a report from the Conservative Tribune, one of his first lies came to light back in 2013 when he regarded his daughter’s death due to congenital heart failure, making a false statements about her health insurance that was politically motivated.
The Daily Caller said at the time that Durbin “described his sick child’s preexisting condition as a reason to support Obamacare last week, but the Illinois Democrat neglected to mention that his late daughter was easily covered by existing insurance, and that he used taxpayer money to reward the hospital that treated her.”
Fast forward to today, when Durbin told yet another lie when he said that President Trump referred to African countries as “s***holes” adding that the alleged comments were “hate-filled, vile and racist.”
Durbin also said “the most disheartening thing to me is my belief that that was the first time words that hateful had been spoken in the Oval Office of the White House.”
Intentionally or not, Durbin used yet another lie in public since, records show that back in 2016, then President Barack Obama, reportedly referred to Libya as a “s**t show.” He made this comment at a closed meeting as well and Durbin still has the decency to say that Trump’s statement was the “first time words that hateful” have been uttered in the White House.
A story from Politico depicts yet another lie that Durbin have told. The report stated : “In a ‘negotiation’ meeting with the president, one GOP House Leader told [President Barack Obama]: ‘I cannot even stand to look at you,’ Durbin wrote in a post on his Facebook page over the weekend.
However, both the White House and the House speaker’s office denied Durbin’s account of events.Asked about the post in the White House daily briefing, press secretary Jay Carney said he checked with a participant of the meeting in question.
‘I looked into this and spoke with somebody who was in that meeting and it did not happen,’ Carney said”

A spokesmen for John Boehner, who was then the Speaker of the House said about Durbin’s claim : “Sen. Durbin’s accusation is a serious one, and it appears to have been invented out of thin air. The senator should disclose who told him this account of events, retract his reckless allegation immediately, and apologize.”
Even though Durbin is not backing down from his lies, the President has denied the accusations. He even took it to his Twitter account to make it more public, tweeting : “The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made – a big setback for DACA!”
Who’s to say whether Durbin’s accusations can be trusted, considering his track record for lying in the past. It’s his word against the President’s now.
Senator David Perude argued that “Durbin in particular had a habit of twisting comments made by Republicans in private.”
