Stunning: Every Dem. on Intel Committee Votes Against Letting Congress See FISA Memo
American legislators are supposed to serve the needs of the people and stay loyal to the truth and to the country they represent.
They are allowed to have a difference of opinion, but ultimately they should all serve the Constitution and the nation.
However, nowadays it appears that truth has taken a back seat to partisan activities. As the scandal about the wiretapping of the Department of Justice has unfolded, each and every Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee has given their vote for the cover up of what is probably the biggest scandal in recent history.
As all of you probably already know, the whole scandal is centered around a warrant application which the Obama administration sent to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, now known as the “FISA warrant”.
Ahead of President Trump’s election, the Department of Justice under the leadership of former President Barack Obama, requested a permission to wiretap conversations which not only included politicians, put other American citizens as well.
As evidence suggests, the entire operation was organized in order to collect information which could have been used against Trump in the presidential election. The warrant was obtained with the help of the now- debunked Russian dossier.
After the information about this infamous dossier broke out, many members of the House Intelligence Committee were curious see its content, and after fighting an exhausting battle to gain access, some f them managed to get their hands on it personally.
As Canada Free Press has explained “But they didn’t get to keep copies…They were only allowed to view them and take notes.”
Because of this some of the members decided to draft a memo which contained the facts from the dossier. And according to the report from CFP, the committee now “voted to make these memos available to all House members.”
Even though you might presume that that would be a good thing, literally every Democrat of the committee voted that the memos stay a secret.
A report from The Wall Street Journal stated : “Every Democrat voted against letting the rest of the House see a memo that will list the facts about the FBI’s use of FISA warrants to surveil members of the Trump campaign in 2016.” The report asked, “Strange. What are Democrats afraid of?”
One of the Congressmen wh are calling for attention on this massive cover-up is the Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes. As stated in the Wall Street Journal, “(Nunes) said he had seen evidence that law enforcement misused powers involving the surveillance of U.S. citizens as part of the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign.”
The article further explained that : “The Constitution and Congress impose strict rules on government surveillance of U.S. citizens, and the FISA court relies on the integrity of law enforcement when granting warrants. If a senior Member of the House is attesting to abuse, all of Congress should see the evidence before deciding how to respond.”
The FBI’s excuse has been that sharing the FISA memo would pose a threat on national security.
But as Canada Free Press has pointed out, they won’t be releasing the actual FISA application, but a summary of it.
In any case, the Democrats and the FBI will have some serious explaining to do.
