BREAKING: FL Just Suddenly Became FIRST In U.S. To Make Shocking New Rule – Rioters Rallying Now!
As the state of Florida suffered through a second mass shooting, locals have raised their voices in the gun debate. Liberals are displeased with the fact that there is no restriction for citizens’ Second Amendment rights after the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, and the Parkland high school massacre.
Now, Florida legislators have taken a major step, two weeks after the shooting, that caught everybody by surprise.
Apart from the detail that there were guns involved in both cases, the two mass shootings which happened in the same state had nothing else in common. Nevertheless, people seem to forget that the problem is with the person who did such a despicable thing, not the gun itself. But the left continually refuses to accept this. And they are pushing for more gun control laws every day.
Last week, Rick Scott, the Governor of Florida issued an announcement in which he said that he plans to pursue some charges for gun laws in his state, in an attempt to answer all those demands after the school shooting which led to the deaths of 17 people.
As Scott stayed true to his word and raised the legal age for purchasing a firearm from 18 to now 21, legislators in Florida approved a major new rule that placed the state as a first one since the Stoneman Douglas High School massacre to do so.
Even though legislators agreed with the left’s demands, the people’s support was more with the conservatives. Not only did they refuse to ban AR-15 style rifles, like the one that the shooter used, but they also approved something which will make liberals really go crazy.
According to a report from The New York Post : “Florida’s Senate Rules Committee spent more than two hours debating the gun-control issues before eventually casting their votes, according to NBC.
Senators also agreed to confiscate guns from people with mental health issues, in addition to raising the legal buying age and giving teachers the right to carry.
A similar packaged set of reforms is scheduled to be taken up by the House Rules Committee on Tuesday.”
The report goes on to say that the meetings were as a result of people’s demands for stricter gun-control laws.
Survivors of the Parkland massacre and hundreds of their supporters and activists appeared last week in Tallahassee to request legislators to take action.
A lot of people assembled at the Capitol in support of the assault weapons amendment, which was dropped by a 7-6 vote.
According to News 13, some of the activists chanted :“Shame, shame, shame!”
Another thing that pro-gun-control activists weren’t pleased with was that teachers might soon be allowed to carry firearms in schools.
Senator Oscar Branynon reportedly said : “It bothers me to think as a father of two young boys to tell them to not be aggressive to your teacher.”
In the attacks against this move, naturally, as with any other problem in the country, race was the first thing that was brought up. Instead of giving a good reason why he would be disappointed by such rule, Branynon spin the narrative in a way in which he implied that black children will now become a target of violence for their teachers.
According to the Post, Branynon stated for the Sun Sentinel that : “he and other black fathers across Florida will now have to include teachers when talking to their children about how to act around armed authority figures.”
He also sad: “Please don’t make it dangerous for children who look like my children to go to school.” He immediately accused teachers who may choose to carry firearms in school as racist.
Even though Florida isn’t the first to permit teachers to carry guns in school, it is the only state stat approved the bill. However the group of states which allowed this practice is very small, and Florida is only the seventh state in the country to permit teachers to be armed during classes.
As the Giffords Law Center has reported, just ten states in the nation have agreed to allow hidden carry on school property. In addition to this, up until now there has never been a case in these states when a teacher used his firearm to harm black students, or any students for that matter.
